About Dr. James E McReynolds...

James McReynolds and his wife Laurel are founders of Visionquest International. They provide spiritual encounters through local churches, hospitals, prisons, retreats, seminars, family enrichment, business, and civic presentations.

"One day your preaching will be, as my positive thinking, a fresh vision for communicating Christian faith. Jim, I anoint you the minister of joy to the world." Norman Vincent Peale said during a School of Practical Christianity in Pawling, New York. Millions have read Jim's books, articles, printed sermons, and newsletters. Others have listened to his television and radio presentations. He serves as a Christian counselor and spiritual director. As a licensed mental health practitioner, he believes that "souls are made for endurance." He has served as a diplomat of the World Pastoral Care Center, on the pastoral care committee of the Baptist World Alliance, prayer and spiritual formation task forces of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship; and member, faith and order commission, National Council of Churches of Christ in the United States of America.

While serving as public relations specialist for the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, his portfolio included promotion of the programs of the board's ministry, including National Student Ministries. His prolific ministry to students has included speaking on more than 5,200 campuses throughout the world.

He has served local church staffs in twelve denominations. He is a retired elder in the United Methodist Church. He was ordained as a Baptist preacher and served his first call at the age of twelve, youngest minister to be ordained. And he served churches both small and large. He now has standing as an ordained minister of the Christian Church {Disciples of Christ} in the United States and Canada.

He understands that the essence of being a preacher was to be a good storyteller with an important message.

If he had to sum up all of Christian Theology in one word, it would be joy.
